This salticid forages on green leaves or twigs, where its colour provide good camouflage, but it also makes a retreat in a rolled leaf or under loose bark

Jerzy Proszynski has suggested that this species may eventually be moved from Cytaea to another salticid genus.

Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: Several other Australian salticids, including some Cytaea species.
