This species rests undeneath a horizontal crinoline (like a stiff petticoat) sheet web typically strung under ledges of soil or rock with a peaked support in the centre where the spider waits for insects to fall down

Known Range: This is a very common species found in bush settings from about Gladstone down the coast to west of Melbourne and also in Tasmania.

Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: Several larger spiders (and especially the males) with long, slender legs have at least a superficial resemblance to this species, including Tasmanicosa godeffroyi, Heteropoda jugulans and Tamopsis fickerti.
