This is one of the larger Australian huntsman species and is very common in eucalypt forests throughout Australia. It occasionally ventures into houses and sheds.

Known range: Very common from Cooktown down to Geelong and also in Tasmania, Adelaide and the South-west corner of WA.

Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: Other huntsman species, including Isopeda vasta and Heteropoda jugulans.
