In December 2016 the World Spider Catalog lists Xysticus geometres as a Queensland species but subsequent revisions may lead to an entirely different name being adopted.

Known range: Never found in large numbers this species has been recorded as being in Cairns, Barcaldine, Bundaberg and some localities west of Brisbane.

Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: Other dark coloured thomisids.
