The spider shown on this page has the overall body shape of a Holoplatys species but the yellow stripe and pair of dots on the abdomen of this male are characters not seen on any known Australian Holoplatys species. Apart from Holoplatys bicolor and Holoplatys bicoloroides, which are orange-brown over most of their cephalothorax and leg surfaces, the usual colour of a Holoplatys species is near-black with white hairs or fringes.
