Eilica species are fast-moving, ground-dwelling spiders and at least some of them feed exclusively on ants
Unknown; handle with caution though this is probably a harmless species
The recognition of this spider as an Eilica species was based on its similarity with other known Eilica species and the original description
of the genus Eilica as presented in the following paper: Platnick N.I. (1975) "A Revision of the Spider Genus Eilica (Araneae, Gnaphosidae)"

The distinguishing feature of this spider is the orange patch at the rear of the abdomen.
