female: at least 20 mm
male: perhaps 8 mm
Habitat:
In a 'typical' orb web between shrubs; the female rests on an X-shaped stabilimentum in the centre of the web and the male near its edge
Toxicity:
Unknown, but this is a timid spider that is not aggressive towards humans but should still be handled with caution

Known Range: Argiope magnifica is thought to be present only in the Ballina area of Northern NSW.

Spider(s) with a very similar appearance: Argiope keyserlingi and Argiope trifasciata.
